Singer Island

Singer Island

To begin with, Singer Island is not really an island; it’s a peninsula that lies south of Juno Beach, with North Palm Beach to the west, and the open Atlantic to the east.  But why quibble over details because Singer Island just happens to have the picture perfect beaches and warm turquoise water that many regard as an essential part of living the Florida lifestyle. Pristine parks, marinas, hiking and bike paths beckon its residents, seasonal visitors and vacationers to enjoy its 47 miles of white sand beaches. With full-on views of the Atlantic Ocean, the beauty of a sunrise as seen from Singer Island properties is nothing short of breath taking, 365 days a year.

Frankel Realty Group looks forward to showing you the many types of Singer Island real estate for sale, from ocean front estates with million dollar views, to single family residences on the intracoastal. Singer Island condos and luxurious vacation residences abound. Singer Island homes are places where you can enjoy boating, cycling, snorkeling, sailing, scuba diving, and big game fishing all year round. Who could ask for anything more?

The History of Singer Island, Florida: A Story All its Own

For some, the name Singer is synonymous with sewing machines, and in fact it was the rakish inventor and sometime actor Isaac Singer, founder of the Singer Sewing Machine Company in 1856, whose son Paris (one of Isaac Singer’s 24 children!) gave the island its name. (Paris Singer would eventually join forces with Addison Mizner to develop the renowned Palm Beach Island.) The first known settlement on Singer Island was recorded in 1906, a community that sprung up thanks to the fishermen of Riviera Beach just west of Singer Island, and from the Bahama Islands, who liked that it was closer to the Gulf Stream waters than any other place in North America.

The jewel of Singer Island, John D. MacArthur Beach State Park, owes its existence to financier and philanthropist John D. MacArthur, who purchased over 100,000 acres of this land in 1963. MacArthur donated some of this land to the state, which opened the park in 1989. It’s but a short drive north from most Singer Island homes to this magnificent 436 acre space which has one of the finest isolated beaches in Florida, offering opportunities for snorkeling, scuba diving, swimming, fishing, nature trail hikes, and picnics. The kids will love the playground. You will love this precious, untouched piece of “old Florida,” and the many ways that this expanse of  land protects the habitats of the wild life and native plants of the region.

Most Singer Island properties are but a 20 minute drive to Palm Beach International Airport; the Island of Palm Beach, with its chic shops, posh eating places, and storied lore; and all the attractions of West Palm Beach, including the Raymond F. Kravis Center for the Performing Arts, and the famed Norton Museum of Art. There are no schools on Singer Island, but a choice of many on the mainland.
